Continuing the trend of Bengali actors foraying into Bollywood, yet another artist is set for her very first project in Hindi. Actress Tanika Basu, who was recently seen in ‘Iti Memories’, a web series starring Soumya Mukherjee playing the male lead, will be seen in an upcoming Hindi web series. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the upcoming series titled ‘Kaala’ will feature Tanika playing a meaty role. The actress is all elated about the project.

A new journey for Tanika

The actress started shooting for the series in January after landing the role through auditions. Tanika’s performance left the makers all impressed and they decided to cast her playing a character called Lobo. It’s a multi-starrer web series which will feature a number of leading artists including Avinash Tiwary, Rohan Vinod Mehra, Nivetha Pethuraj, Taher Shabbir and Hiten Tejwani among others. Interestingly, not just Tanika but a number of artists from Tolly Para will feature in the series. And the cast includes artists Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Debraj Mukherjee and others. The teaser has just been dropped and it has tickled the curiosity of the audience with its very first glimpse.

The series is set for its premiere in September.

Meanwhile, Tanika, is not a new name to the Bengali audience. Viewers have seen her in Tollywood movies as well as series. The actress has been a face of many prestigious brands as a model, too. Now, she is all set to make her Bollywood dreams come true.

Prior to her, in the recent past, a number of artists have made their Bollywood debuts. Actors Anirban Bhattacharya, Soumya Mukherjee, left their presence felt in Rani Mukherjee starrer ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’. Ritabhari Chakraborty, who did her first Hindi movie few years back, will now make her web debut with a Hindi series.
