Dance Bangla Dance 11 winner: Arnab Chakraborty and Sukanya win the title
After several months of fierce competition, ‘Dance Bangla Dance 11’ has found its winner. Dancing duo Arnab Chakraborty and Sukanya have been crowned as the winners of this season. Gang Street Mafia was declared runner-up while wonder kid Rishita Tanti became the second runner-up. Arnab and Sukanya, who are from Chakdah, received the trophy and cash prize of total Rs. 9 lakh. First and second runner-ups got Rs. 2 lakhs in total.
Raish-Palah and RP brothers got evicted right before the final round. The judges praised them and wished them good luck for future. RP brothers and Raish-Palash got a special gift from Jeet.
Arnab and Sukanya couldn’t believe themselves when the result was announced. Arnab, who runs a dance school, has faced struggle to reach this far. Sukanya, on the other hand, is Arnab’s student. They teamed up in ‘Dance Bangla Dance’ as a team.
Rishita is the youngest contestant of this season but she gave stiff competition to all other contestants. In Grand Finale, she performed despite injury and left the judges mesmerised. Govinda heaped praises on the wonder kid. “She is beyond this competition,” said Govinda. She received Rs. 5 lac in addition to this from one of the sponsors.
Gang Street Mafia has 9 nine members who are from Kharagpur. Most of the members do odd jobs to make the ends meet and practice dance whenever they manage time.
The Grand finale witnessed some spectacular dance performances. Megha Daw-Soubhik, Gang Street Mafia, Md. Raish Hossein-Palash, Arnab-Sukanya, R.P. Brothers and Rishita set the stage on fire with their sharp moves. Our very own ‘Hero No. 1’ left the audience grooved with his signature dance style while Jeet-Rimjhim Mitra and Devlina Kumar’s chemistry mesmerised everyone. Bollywood actor Govinda set the stage ablaze with his performance. He danced to the tune of his hit songs ‘Goriya Churana Mera Jiya’ and ‘Soni De Nakhre’. When host Ankush asked how he is feeling today, Govinda left everyone surprise and replied in Bengali “Khub bhalo” (Very good). Then he added, “What Bengal has seen through this show and the entire world through Bengal is really commendable. I am mesmerised to see such talented coming from a humble background. It (Dance Bangla Dance) has become my family. I don’t have any words to describe.”
‘Dance Bangla Dance’, in its latest season, welcomed participants from different age groups. Ankush Hazra and Vikram Chatterjee co-hosted the show while Om Sahani, Rimjhim, Soumili and Devlina were the mentors.
