I would rather wait for a good role than say yes to anything that comes my way: Nabanita Malakar

Bengali actress Nabanita Malakar is giving the small screen a miss for quite some time now. She was last seen in the mythological show ‘Mangal Chandi’ last year. When asked about her absence on the small screen, the pretty actress says, “It is a conscious decision. I am waiting for a good role that gives me the opportunity to explore myself as an actress.It’s not that I am not getting any offers. But to tell you the truth, I would patiently wait for a good role than saying yes to any offer that comes my way.”
Nabanita shared how she was criticised for being ‘choosy’. “Almost everyday, I face odd questions from people regarding my decision to take up only meaty projects. People ask, how I can be choosy when I haven’t worked for more than a year. My question is why not? I think I am worthy enough to play a lead role. Then, why should I settle for a second lead?” questions the actress.
In the meanwhile, Nabanita has undergone a glamorous transformation. Her latest photoshoot is turning heads. “I have mostly done mythological shows and family dramas. An image makeover was much needed to avoid being stereotyped,” says the actress.
Nabanita has been a part of television shows like ‘Aponjon’, ‘Mahaprabhu Sree Chaitanya’, ‘Arabya Rajani’, and others.
