Actress
Pallavi Sharma, who became a household name playing Joba's character in 'Ke Apon Ke Por', has been missing from the small screen for quite some time. While she kept making heads turn by sharing glammed-up photos on social media, viewers haven’t seen
Pallavi in any TV shows other than her occasional appearances on non-fictions.
But latest reports suggest, Pallavi is likely to make a comeback after two years.
The actress, who recently participated in Rachna Banerjee hosted ‘Didi No. 1’, has been approached for a new show. Makers are currently in talks with Pallavi regarding the upcoming show which will feature her in a brand new avatar unlike Joba, a village belle-turned-all rounder. If sources are to be believed, makers are keen on casting Rubel Das opposite Pallavi as the male lead. Interestingly, Pallavi’s co-star Biswajit Ghosh is also playing the male lead in one of the popular shows aired by the same channel which will air her show.
If everything falls into place, then the project will hit the floor soon after Durga Puja.
Speaking about Pallavi, her last show ‘Ke Apon Ke Por’ successfully ran for more than four and a half year. Though, the show became a fodder for trolls because of its certain tracks, ‘Ke Apon Ke Por’ enjoyed huge popularity because of Pallavi and Biswajit’s jodi. The actors as the lead pair had a crackling chemistry which worked as the USP of the show and favoured the project to earn good viewership despite constant criticism because of it’s over-the-top drama and ‘creative liberty’.
Interestingly, in the past few months, a number of new shows have been launched on Bengali television. Some of the newly launched worked instantly while a few are yet to leave a mark in terms of TRP. Meanwhile, there are a few new shows lined up for launch. Among these, there are Neel Bhattacharya-Sampurna Lahiri starrer untitled project and ‘Alor Theekana’. Adding yet another name to the list, Rubel and Pallavi’s new show is also likely to hit the screen soon. It will be interesting to see what the viewers have to say about the new project.
