Khorkuto fame Priyanka Mitra to play a meaty role in ‘Balijhor’

Actress Priyanka Mitra aka Khorkuto’s Chini, needs no introduction. The Bengali beauty, who made her debut with TV show ‘Chaddobeshi’, starring Raja Biswas in the male lead role, has become a household name already. The actress has bagged a new project. She has been roped in Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee for their upcoming television project ‘Balijhor’, which has a stellar star cast.Priyanka will play actor Indrasish Roy’s reel sister in the show. Her reel character Doyel is a girl next door, who is simple and sweet. She comes from a middle class family. Priyanka will be mostly seen sporting traditional attires in the show.
Interestingly, she will share the screen with a number of her former co-stars in the show including Trina Roy, Koushik Roy who played her reel brother and sister-in-law in the popular family drama. Senior artist Dulal Lahiri also shared the screen with them as Siddheshwar Mukherjee, the head of Mukherjee household. There are a few other artists from the same show playing prominent roles in the upcoming show which will start its journey from today (February 6).
‘Balijhor’ is touted to be one of the most-anticipated show which will bring back Trina and Koushik on-screen yet again. Their chemistry worked in favour of ‘Khorkuto’ earlier. Besides this, the show has an ensemble cast that includes two very eminent artists of Bengali cinema, Sabitri Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukhopadhyay essaying prominent roles. Besides this, Moyna Mukherji, Bharat Kaul, Tathagata Mukherjee, Prity Biswas will also feature in ‘Balijhor’.
