After ‘Ponchomi’, ‘Khelaghor’, ‘Gouri Elo’ and many other Bengali shows, here’s yet another soap opera that’s ready for its remake. Neel Bhattacharya and Tiyasha Lepcha starrer ‘Bangla Medium’ has inspired a Kannada television serial, which will premiere on a leading television channel. Titled ‘Kaveri Kannada Medium’, the upcoming show, draws inspiration from none other than, the Tiyasha and Neel starrer.
Artists Priya J Achara, Anu Poovamma and Rakshit are playing the lead roles in this upcoming Kannada television show.
Other than a few changes, keeping the nativity in mind, Kaveri Kannada Medium’s story is almost similar to the Bengali one. The story revolves around a meritorious girl, named Kaveri who lives in a village where she teaches young students. She has great respect for her mother tongue.
Story’s hero, on the other hand, is an arrogant city boy, who is full of himself. He and his sister are among the director members of an English Medium school. The brother-sister is greatly influenced by Western culture and has almost no respect for Kannada language or tradition. In fact, they ridicule people who aren’t that fluent in English.
Protagonist Kaveri, on the other hand, is determined to uphold the legacy of Kannada language and its rich tradition, as a teacher. The story will progress when she encounters with the brother and sister duo.
The Bengali serial has a similar storyline. While Neel plays the male lead, Sampurna Lahiri essays his sister’s character. Neel teamed up with his Krishnakoli co-star Tiyasha for the second time as the lead pair. Neel-Tiyasha’s crackling chemistry is the USP of the show.
