Telly actor Sayan Banerjee is excited to play the male lead in the daily soap Hoyto Tomari Janye. The serial is directed by Shibangshu Bhattacharya and stars Chaity Ghoshal, Sampurna, Anindita Banerjee, Chumki Chowdhury and Rahul Barman, among others.
It’s for the first time that the actor will be seen playing a policeman on the small screen. Sharing details about his character, Sayan said, “My character’s name is Somraj and he is a policeman.
Though he is a rough and tough police officer now, he had once served a prison term for a wrong encounter. Now that he is free, he is on a special mission to nab a dangerous criminal. Interestingly, he meets Joyee, who is paired opposite me, and they both unite over the sole reason to find that criminal. The criminal has murdered Joyee’s husband, and thus we both want to punish the same person.”
The serial has been on air since February this year. Sayan, though had a bit of difficulty adjusting on the sets of the serial, initially, but calls it his second home now. “It is a huge unit with various actors and technicians. Also, it is for the first time that I was playing a lead. So, it took me some time to adjust. But now, I feel a lot like home on the sets and everyone is lovely to work with. The sets of Hoyto Tomari Janye is like a second home to me.”
