Star Jalsha is celebrating the birth anniversary of
Rabindranath Tagore in a special programme which will include music, dance and poetry. Some of the biggest names of the industry and Tagore scholars will perform.
The event will celebrate Rabindranath Tagore’s 153rd birth anniversary. Throughout the ages Rabindranath has been treated and worshipped like a God, but today’s youth is more inclined to see him as a visionary and youth icon, almost as a friend.
This is the theme of the show as Bidipta and Samadarshi represent the two opposite opinions. Their conversation is interspersed with performances by Sayantika, Riddhima, Mir, Lopamudra, Sayani, Subhomita, etc.

Sayantika will perform a fusion act of contemporary and semi classical to the song
Tomar khola hawa. Sohini will dance to Bhenge mor
ghorer chaabi. Sayani, in her performance, makes use of Kalaripayattu, the martial art form, in the choreography. The song she will perform to is
Ebar tor mora gange baan eseche. Riddhima will perform to
Mor bhabonare ki haowae matalo. Mumtaz, in a Manipuri influenced style mixed with Indian choreography, will performed to the song
Dui haathe koler mandira. Subhamita will sing
Ghorete Bhromor elo and Monomoy will perform
Akaash jure shuninu and
Bodhu michhe raag korona. Lopamudra Mitra will sing
Tumi kemon kore and
Bipul tarongo re. Mir, along with his band, will perform a parody Tagore songs.
Bidipta and Samadarshi will anchor the show.
