Suppliers plan stalling TV shoots again
In a new turn of events, producer Subrata Roy has emailed the association of suppliers on Saturday assuring that he will clear their dues soon. The email is addressed to Neet Paul, secretary of Suppliers Guild, and promises pay.
Among many other claims, Subrata had written on the email 'I again promise you that I will clear the said bounce cheque on 10th of this month without fail.
We already collect the dues list from vendor association and we will will send the details tomorrow after reconcile with our accounts and will sit on 11th of this month for the payment date (sic)'.
The suppliers guild have so far cooperated with him and even after he failed to clear their dues, they had decided to not stop shooting like they did on earlier occasions. "This is not the first time. We have heard such claims from Subrata Roy even before. After he repeatedly failed to keep his word, we had emailed him today to which he replied with the same assurance. But we have said if the dues are not cleared soon, we will again stall shooting from Monday," Neet told us.
These suppliers work to supply costume, jewellery and other stuff to Subrata's production house serials Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni and Debi Choudhurani. Shoots of these serials have been stalled before too. Last it was reported that six suppliers, who received their payments on August 31, were surprised to find their cheque bounce on September 2. Since then, the guild held several meetings with Subrata. The channel heads were also present on some occasions.
