One half of the
viral sensation Island Boys didn’t ring in 2026 the way fans might have hoped. Franky Venegas, known to many as KodiyakRedd from the TikTok-fuelled rap duo, was arrested in Naples, Florida, on New Year’s Eve on alleged drug-related charges, according to law enforcement reports.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Venegas was booked into the local jail on one count of possession of drug paraphernalia late Wednesday night and photographers captured yet another mug shot of the controversial viral artist after the arrest.
Island Boys Arrest Shock: Franky Venegas Detained With NO BOND | WATCH
Authorities revealed that he was being held without bond on a 24-hour hold because he was already out on bond from a separate February arrest involving an altered firearm charge, stemming from a previous incident in the Naples area.
From viral fame to recurring headlines
Franky and his twin brother Alex first became Internet sensations in 2021 after their song '
I’m an Island Boy' exploded on TikTok. Their instantly recognisable hairstyles, tattoos and bold personalities helped their clip go viral, turning the twins into pop-culture figures almost overnight.
However, not all the attention has been positive. Beyond their music success, Franky in particular has faced a series of legal troubles over the past several years.
In February last year, deputies pulled over a yellow Corvette in Naples after it allegedly ran a stop sign. Law enforcement discovered a bag of suspected Oxycodone pills and a blue spray-painted handgun with the serial numbers removed in the vehicle, according to a sheriff’s report.
While Venegas denied ownership of the pills and claimed to have a prescription he couldn’t produce, the firearm charge remained a central part of that case and it is that charge that factored into his arrest bond status heading into New Year’s Eve.
A pattern of legal issues
This is not the first time that Franky has landed in legal trouble. Over the years he has been linked to a range of allegations, including domestic battery, reckless driving and other law enforcement encounters.
Meanwhile, his brother Alex, better known as Flyysoulja, has largely avoided the same level of legal scrutiny, though the pair’s fame and polarising Internet presence have kept them in the public eye for better and worse.
What comes next
As Franky remains in custody, entertainment circles are left wondering whether this latest arrest will further overshadow the musical legacy the Island Boys had hoped to build. The duo’s breakout moment may have been a flash of viral fame but Franky’s repeated run-ins with the law now risk defining his public narrative as much as his music did.
Whether this latest arrest derails future Island Boys plans or prompts a shift in how the brothers engage with fame remains to be seen. For now, the New Year has kicked off with another headline in a long series for one of social media’s most talked-about rap duos.
