Meri Brown is speaking up about an intriguing ritual in her town.
During the Sunday, October 13 episode of Sister Wives, an off-camera director asks Christine Brown in a confession: "So, there's this rumour that in the church, a lot of the sister wives would sit around and breastfeed and swap kids around."
"That is not true!" she insisted. "No, it was a joke. "That is disgusting."
However, Meri, 53, provided a different perspective in her confessional, telling the cameras, "I actually breastfed one of our kids that was not my own child." She went on: "That was something that was kind of medically necessary at the time, but it wasn't something that we did on a regular basis just for fun, just for kicks and giggles."
Janelle Brown weighed in during her confessional, stating that she had never participated in the ritual due to medical reasons. "I have never breastfed another baby. "I never had enough milk," she explained. "I would have been hard-pressed to do that."
Robyn Brown reluctantly stated in her confessional, "Yeah, it's real. It is true. Women would breastfeed one another's kids."
"In our culture, I've seen it a lot," she explained.
Robyn, who is 46 years old, commented, "It's not like musical babies," rather: "It's more of, like, necessity and help and, you know, a community of women being supportive to each other about their children and stuff."
