When it comes to festivals, we love to celebrate them with pomp, opulence, leaving no stone unturned. Over the years,
Diwali has always been all about lighting up every surface, gorging on mithai and snacks, indulging in shopping sprees and having lavish Diwali parties. However, the pandemic has changed it all. With Diwali a few days away, we ask
Indiawaali Maa actor Sucheeta Trivedi on how much the pandemic has changed her perception of celebrating festivals.
Sucheeta adds, “I believe that Gods see our dedication, strength and how strongly we believe in them. It doesn’t matter to the Almighty how much we spend, they only see our undying faith in them. The pandemic has taught us many lessons and how to celebrate the festivities in the right manner is one of them. What I’ve learnt is that low-key, noise-free and intimate celebrations with loved ones are enough to welcome God instead of going gung-ho with celebrations. We should be content with simple and small things. For Diwali, I will light diyas in my home with my husband, offer prayers to Lakshmi Ji and Ganesh Ji, and gorge on some
laddoos.”
