Anupamaa’s Jaswir Kaur says she was forced to quit CID, reveals battling depression and surviving on cameos for 7 years
Actress Jaswir Kaur, who has been a part of several hit films, TV shows and songs, recently opened up about the most difficult phase of her life and made a startling revelation. In a podcast with Subhojit Ghosh, the actress revealed that she was forced to quit TV show 'CID' by the makers and going through financial difficulties for seven years after her exit. Jaswir stated she survived by doing cameo roles during that period.
During the interview, Jaswir shared that she was suddenly told to leave the show, which left her very upset. She said she cried for about 45 days after it happened. The actress added that she had worked on the show for almost two years, shooting continuously without taking any days off. She also mentioned that none of her co-stars contacted or supported her when she had to leave the show.
When asked about the reason for her ouster from the show, she shared, “Suddenly they called me to the office, and they said my attitude is wrong, I don't walk nicely. They said that if your lines are not there, you throw the script and use foul language. And I was like, when did this all happen? I tried to counter, and the negotiation lasted 45 days. I only had tears in my eyes, and my mother cried because she saw me cry every day. Then I went through depression for three months.”
Further in the interview, Jaswir went on to claim that black magic was performed on her. She alleged that she noticed a portion of her hair had been cut. The actress shared that an astrologer later told her someone had cut her hair and buried it in the soil. Speaking about the financial struggles she faced during that phase, she said, “For seven years, I only did survival. I only did cameos for seven years. And I had bought a house. I used to sleep on the floor because I didn't have the money to pay EMI for the house. I used to have ₹100, and ₹800 was tax.”
The actress also claimed that none of her co-stars supported her or even contacted her during her difficult phase after she was asked to leave the show.
Jaswir Kaur played the role of Inspector Kajal in CID and was part of the show from 2010 to 2012. The popular crime drama also featured actors like Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Dinesh Phadnis and Narendra Gupta, among others.
