Balika Vadhu fame Surekha Sikri wins the national award; co-star Smita Bansal congratulates her

Veteran actress Surekha Sikri has won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role of a grandmother in Badhaai Ho and congratulatory messages have been pouring in.
This is Surekha’s third national award. Sikri had bagged her first National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, for her role in the 1998 film 'Tamas', the second for 1995 film 'Mammo' and the third for 2018 film 'Badhaai Ho'.
Surekha Sikri has been a prominent name in the television industry as well. CID, Just Mohabbat, Banegi Apni Baat, Saat Phere are some of the serials where Surekha played an important role.
In popular show Balika Vadhu, Surekha played the role of Daadisa and she is still remembered for the character. He co-star Smita Bansal, who played the role of Sumitra Bhairon Singh, congratulated Surekha on her big win. She wrote, “So blessed to have shared screen space with her. A fantastic actor and even better human being.”

It's a celebration time for the entire team of 'Badhaai Ho' as the film has bagged the Best Popular Film at the 66th National Film Awards 2018, which were held yesterday (August 9) in Delhi.
