Battleground contestant Anjali Rawat's sister reflects on Asim Riaz's exit: “We all should stay in our boundaries when we sign up for a project”
In the aftermath of Asim Riaz’s exit from the reality show Battleground, Swati Rawat—sister of contestant Anjali Rawat—has shared another statement, recalling Anjali’s admiration for Asim and offering her perspective on recent events.
“I remember Anjali sitting in front of the television during Khatron Ke Khiladi and watching the show, so eagerly waiting for Asim Riaz’s performance,” Swati shared. “He is known to be one hell of a performer.”
She also spoke about why Anjali appreciated having him as a team leader. “She likes him as her team leader because of the competitive spirit that he has—we don’t think anybody has it. And I’m sure we all will agree to this.”
Addressing the situation surrounding his exit, Swati remarked, “But yes, whatever happened was not done, and it was very unfortunate.”
She ended her statement with a reminder about conduct and professionalism. “We all should stay within our boundaries when we sign up for a project, as all the judges on the panel are reputed and respectable in their own genre. Playing a game, headstrong, is one thing, but disrespecting is something that is not acceptable at all.”
For those who may not know, Rubina Dilaik and Asim Riaz were recently involved in a tense exchange on the reality show Battleground. The clash happened when Asim made a disrespectful comment about Rubina. He said she didn’t belong on the show because it focused on fitness. His remark seemed to question whether she was the right fit for the format.
In reply to the incident, Rubina’s husband Abhinav Shukla didn’t keep quiet. A fan asked him about it in the comments on his YouTube vlog. Abhinav responded by accusing Asim of using performance-enhancing drugs. He wrote, “All jacked up muscle, no brain and bad attitude is not a sign of fitness.”
The argument didn’t stop there. Rubina later took to Instagram to speak out about the death threats her husband, Abhinav, had received. She posted a screenshot of one of the threatening messages on her Instagram story. The message was reportedly sent by a fan of Asim Riaz. Rubina strongly criticized the fan's actions and condemned such behavior. Abhinav has been allegedly getting targeted online. The threatening message even made a disturbing reference to the recent shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s residence, raising serious concerns.
She also spoke about why Anjali appreciated having him as a team leader. “She likes him as her team leader because of the competitive spirit that he has—we don’t think anybody has it. And I’m sure we all will agree to this.”
