After playing Angad Hasija’s sister-in-law in Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, which made them household names,
Parul Chauhan has graduated to essaying his mother in the mythological show, Dharm Yoddha Garud. However, instead of focussing on their reel relationship, the two are revelling in the fact that they are working together after almost 12 years. Parul shares, “When I got to know that Angad will be playing my son in the show, I was taken by surprise at first.
I couldn’t control my laughter. I met him on the set and we got talking like there was never a time gap between our first and latest shows. We took up where we left off. We joke on the set, as we used to during the shoot of Bidaai. Everyone around us looks at us in bewilderment and we tell them to join the party (laughs!).”
Angad adds, “I was so happy to reunite with Parul. We have stayed in touch and continue to be dear friends. It feels that we are back in time where it all began. It’s a jog down memory lane with Parul and me working together again after so many years.”

Ask them about the transition from bhabhi to mom and Parul is quick to reply, “What’s exciting about this genre is that despite our age, our characters look young and youthful. I am 1,000 years and my sons are 500 years. I get to retain my real look on the show. Age isn’t a concern in this genre.”
Angad adds, “Screen age doesn’t seem to bother us. It’s about how pivotal and strong a character is and Parul is playing a meaningful one in Garud. Also, she has warned me not to address her as maa offscreen, which I do jokingly all the time (laughs!).”
We have heard of several artistes losing touch with their co-actors after their shows wrap up. However, that is not the case with the Bidaai cast. “Well, that is because we were raw and innocent when we started acting in Bidaai. We were learning the ropes of acting. We were together in this process and helped each other grow as actors. We have cried, fought and laughed together. Nothing in the world can overshadow our bond,” Angad concludes.
