Bigg Boss 12 evicted contestant Somi Khan: ‘Happy that I made friends more than enemies in the house’
Jaipur’s Somi Khan is the latest to be evicted from the Bigg Boss 12 house. Somi, who entered the show with her elder sister Saba Khan (she was previously eliminated) stayed for 14 weeks inside the house before getting eliminated. “Getting evicted when the reality show is nearing the finale is a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, I am proud of myself and happy with my journey in the Bigg Boss 12 house.
Right from meeting Salman Khan to sharing the house with celebrities, the experience has been mind-blowing. The show has changed my life and made a commoner like me into a celebrity. What more I could ask for?” says Somi.

Somi was often criticised by the housemates and audience for giving too much importance to her friendships in the house, and less on the game. In fact, her sister, Saba, also advised her to focus more on her game and less on friendships when she had entered the house to meet Somi during the family task. When we quipped Somi about the same, she says, “That’s how I am in real life too! Agar mai rishtey banati hoon, toh unhe puri tarah se nibhati hoon. For me, my relationships – be it with my friends or family – will always be on top. My friendship with Deepak Thakur, Romil Chaudhary and Surbhi Rana wasn’t just limited to the game. We will continue to be friends even outside the house. I am happy that I have made friends more than enemies in the house. Having said that, I would like to say that I played my game fairly well which is why I was able to survive in the show for 14 weeks. I am proud of myself that I didn’t cross my limits, unlike other contestants, just for the sake of the game. I didn’t use any foul language and never stooped down. I have always expressed my anger in the right way possible. At least, that is what I think. I took stand for myself whenever it was required.”
‘HAPPY CLUB MEMBERS HAVE SUPPORTED EACH OTHER THROUGHOUT THE GAME’
In the game, housemates had often called Somi a “weak” contestant and that she is surviving in the show only because of the support of Happy Club. Somi says, “I don’t agree to all this. All four of us (members of Happy Club) have supported each other throughout the game. Jahaan jisko jarurat hoti thi, hum usko support karte thay. When my friends thought that I would be in danger, they saved me. That’s what friends are for, right? Also, had I been in the game just because of the support of Happy Club, I would have got evicted instead of
Rohit Suchanti. I was also nominated during that week and it was a crucial nomination. But I got a good number of votes and was saved from the eviction. This means that I was playing my game well.”

‘SREESANTH HAS LEARNED TO CONTROL HIS ANGER’
When asked about the differences with fellow inmates, including Sreesanth and Jasleen, Somi says, “During the first week, I had a huge fight with Sreesanth when he questioned about my upbringing. But then, as the weeks passed by, things started to change. This show is like this and its natural to react to situations. Sreesanth is aggressive but I have seen a huge change in his behaviour in the last few days. He has learned to control his anger.”
‘THOUGHT DIPIKA IS ACTING LIKE A NEWLY-MARRIED BRIDE TRYING TO IMPRESS EVERYONE WITH HER SKILLS ’
She shared that she can’t call anyone fake as one can’t be so unreal for continuous 14 weeks. “One can be fake in the initial weeks but then your real personality comes out. At first, I thought Dipika is fake and she is acting like a newly-married bride trying to impress everyone with her skills. But later, I realised that she has a caring nature,” she says.

'I AM ROOTING FOR DEEPAK'
When asked what is that one thing she will miss the most, Somi says, “Bigg Boss’ voice is charismatic. I’ll miss that voice a lot.” The house teaches a lot and if there is anything that Somi has learned during her stay is to first think of herself. “I used to think of others first. Now, I have learned to think of myself first. I have also learned to control my emotions,” she adds. When asked who she would be rooting for, Somi said, “I want a commoner to win the same. I’ll be rooting for Deepak (Thakur) as he has all the qualities of becoming the winner.”
Opening up on her future plans, Somi, just like her sister, shared that she would like to make a career in the entertainment world, be it TV or films.
