Bigg Boss 20: Salman Khan to return as host for the upcoming season; Here's when the show may start: Report

One of the most controversial shows on Indian television, Bigg Boss, is gearing up for its 20th season. The makers have already started preparations for the new season. This year, the show is expected to follow its original schedule and air in the second half of the year. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will once again return as the host.

As per a report in Variety India, Salman will shoot Bigg Boss 20 on September 21. The makers of the show are currently auditioning and finalising contestants for the upcoming season. The reports also mentioned that the production house and the channel are in talks with various popular television celebrities. The team is considering contestants from other popular reality shows, as younger digital viewers play a major role in the show's success and engagement. According to the report, a few ex-contestants could also be part of season 20. More information about the show's format and participant list is expected to be announced soon.

Coming back to the host of the show, Salman Khan, the Sultan actor is set to wrap up a large portion of his upcoming action film with Vamsi Paidipally, alongside Nayanthara. As per sources the superstar's team is working out his schedule to adjust his schedule for the reality show. Bigg Boss takes up a significant part of Salman Khan's time each year.

Before Bigg Boss airs, the channel will also see the return of the stunt-based reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 hosted by Rohit Shetty. KKK was on a break last year due to issues between the channel and the production house. However, this year everything is in place and the contestants are currently shooting for KKK 15 in Cape Town, South Africa.

For the uninitiated, the last season of Bigg Boss made quite a buzz. While Anupamaa fame Gaurav Khanna lifted the trophy, Farrhana Bhatt emerged as the first runner-up.
