Comedy shows do not reduce male actors to props

Actor Sumeet Raghavan, who has been missing from television for sometime, will soon be back. He will mark his return with an alien comedy show Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai.
He says, “I have known the director and writer of the show, Aatish Kapadia, and producer JD Majethia for over 10 years. I am sure I will enjoy doing the show. I chose to stay away from TV and concentrate on films because there was nothing worthwhile happening.”

But isn’t being part of an alien comedy show a big risk, as the genre is new in India? Sumeet explains, “Everyone seems to be thinking so.But we are not going to dress up as aliens 24/7 on the show. It’s about an alien couple in search of their lost kid on earth. It is a risk to try something new, but it is better than playing cliché roles. Comedy shows do not reduce male actors to props. Unlike other shows, women do not rule here.”
Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai starts from June 9 and will air from Monday to Friday at 9.30 pm on SAB TV.
