Although it is often said that it takes years to forge a strong friendship, Deepali Pansare and Shalini Chandran proved this notion wrong. The two first met while shooting for an advertisement in March and immediately clicked. Their affection for one another was evident when they recently took a trip to Puducherry together. Deepali says, “This is the first time I felt a strong connection with someone in just a few hours.
We realised that our wavelength and perspective on life match. Shalini is on a spiritual journey, and I, too, am spiritually inclined and quite interested in studying the universe. I guess we bonded over all things spiritual (smiles). We had so many things in common to talk about on the trip.”
The actress shares that she changed her mind about going on a solo trip on a whim. Deepali says, “I had been planning to go to Puducherry for quite some time. I shared my plan with Shalini on the set of the ad shoot on March 28, and she expressed the desire to accompany me. We met on March 28, and I made arrangements and booked the hotel on April 2. Two days later, we jetted off to Puducherry. I am glad that we travelled together. It was a spontaneous plan, and it turned out to be more amazing than I had imagined.”
She adds, “The pace of life in Mumbai is so rapid that individuals frequently sense the urge to pause and unwind. This trip was a welcome change and served as a much-needed break. Now that we have returned to the city, I am set to start from scratch and look out for work.”
Talking about her newfound friendship with Deepali, Shalini says, “Despite the first meeting being brief, the depth and significance of our conversation led to an immediate bond between us. We decided to spend more time with each other, and that’s how we thought of this trip.”
The two got several opportunities to meet in the past. However, as they say, everything happens at the right time. Shalini says, “While talking to each other, we realised we were offered the same shows a couple of times. However, one of us always backed out. Like marriages, even friendships are made in heaven (smiles).”
