Dipshikkha Nagppal: My birthday and Ganesh Chaturthi make this time of the year truly special

Dipshikkha Nagppal skipped the usual big bash this year to enjoy an intimate, love-filled birthday with her children and close friends. With Ganesh Chaturthi and her kids’ birthdays following soon after, this time of the year is extra special for her.

Dipshikkha Nagppal: My birthday and Ganesh Chaturthi make this time of the year truly special Birthdays usually mean grand celebrations for Dipshikkha Nagppal, but this year she chose to keep it simple, personal, and full of warmth. The actress decided to celebrate in the company of her children – Vidhika and Vivaan – and a few close friends, and the day turned out to be one of her most cherished. She recalls, “I didn’t host a party. At midnight, my children and friends cut the cake with me. My kids decorated the house with balloons, got me a sash, and created a Miss India–style setup. My friends surprised me with live music; they came with a guitar and sang for me. It turned into a beautiful evening. Despite the red alert and waterlogging, they made it, which made me feel even more special. The entire day, my kids wore birthday caps with my picture on them; it was the cutest birthday ever. I truly felt like a pampered diva.” She adds, “I wanted a break from the usual big bashes. Normally, I’m busy looking after everyone at my parties, but this time, I wanted to be pampered. The next day, I treated myself to a spa session with my daughter, and in the evening, I took my friend out.
This birthday was all about feeling relaxed, cared for, and celebrating in my own way.”

August and September, she says, are always close to her heart. Her birthday on August 20 is followed by her favourite festival, Ganesh Chaturthi. Talking about this year’s celebrations, Dipshikkha shares, “This was our 24th year of bringing Bappa home, and we did the visarjan on the fifth day. Every year, we choose the same idol design, but this time, my daughter picked the idol, and I was happy to pass on the legacy to her. The festival always feels extra special because it comes so close to my birthday, followed by Vidhika’s on August 23 and Vivaan’s on September 5. With all these milestones together, this time of the year is truly filled with joy for us.”
