Actress Donal Bisht loves spending festivals with her family. No matter where she is, she makes it a point to travel to Delhi during festivals so that they can all celebrate together. This year too for
Raksha Bandhan, like every year, she flew to Delhi a day before to be with her brother and family.
She says, "When I started working and shifted to Mumbai, I decided that I will be with my family on these auspicious occasions.
I love them very much and after the pandemic, everyone has realised what family means. Even if I have to take a one- day break, I take it and rush to Delhi to be with them. There hasn’t been a single big festival that I haven’t celebrated with them,” says Donal. On Raksha Bandhan, she likes to perform all rituals herself.
“I decorate the thali by myself. Even the Rakhi I buy is a gold one for my brother so he can keep it with him. This year I have got a customised rakhi with a lion and rudraksh on it. I know he will be really happy to see it. I like to do these little things because they make me very happy,” shares Donal.
Remembering her most memorable Rakhi celebration, she shares, “There was one time when I wanted a tab. I wanted it because I used to see my brother using it. He would do all his official work on the tab. But when on the day of Rakhi, I told him that I wanted a tab, he gave me his tab and said take it with you to Mumbai. I was so touched by his gesture that till today I remember that day. Festivals like these help us connect with our families in such beautiful ways.”
