​Exclusive - Anupamaa fame Ekta Saraiya: I am a workaholic and I always pray to God that I be blessed with work on my birthday

Ekta Saraiya, who turns a year older today (September 14), says that she has something special happening this year for her birthday. The actress, who will be seen as Jayati in Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai, says that she will be working on her birthday, which is a blessing.
“I have no Idea. My husband is planning something special for me this year.It’s a surprise. I have been trying to investigate and find out as I am a very restless soul when it comes to surprises but he isn't giving me the slightest of clues,” she says.
She adds, “I am a workaholic and I always pray to God that I be blessed with work on my birthday. But if I’m not shooting then I plan my day around my close friends and family. My day starts early as I visit the temple in the morning followed by a delicious breakfast spread prepared by my mother-in-law who is a fantastic cook. Post Breakfast, the entire family usually goes for a movie and follows it up with lunch at a restaurant. I am pampered by my husband with loads of shopping and post that in the evening we have a small get-together with our close friends. I also make it a point to visit the Mount Mary church in Bandra anytime throughout the day, whenever possible.”
Ask her which has been her most memorable birthday, and she says, “This one is a toughie. Usually, my birthday is an event for me. I love to do different things and celebrate my life. But If I really have to pick one then I guess my most memorable birthday was last year (2022). I was doing Anupama and had a long day at the shoot. My husband and my in-laws surprised me with a huge cake on-set. In the evening, when I returned home, I was filled with emotions as my husband Jagrut had decorated the entire house all by himself with flowers, candles, and balloons. He also prepared a delicious dinner for me. That, by far, is the most memorable birthday that I have had.”


Talking about a gift for herself, she says, “The most memorable birthday gift was when I gifted myself my first car. It was a red Maruti Swift. I used to call it my Dhanno.”
Age is just a number, she says, adding, “I firmly believe in this quote by the Father of American Literature - Mark Twain "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter". Getting old is mandatory and one has to accept it. A person is as young as he/she feels. What's important is that you have to be young at heart and that's how I am. For me, it is not about living a long life but about living a good one.”
Talking about her career goals, she says, “I have been blessed with a birthday gift by the almighty in the form of a new show - Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai which is going to be launched within a week after my birthday. I have been doing television shows since 2006 and my next goal is to be a part of the OTT industry in the near future. My long-term goal is to continue entertaining the audience as a performer and also be a successful TV and Film Producer.”
