As Friendship Day approaches on August 3, actor Arjun Bijlani reflects on the bonds that have shaped his life, from his earliest friendships to the relationships he has built in the entertainment industry. Known for his warm personality, the actor believes that true friends are life’s biggest blessing.
"I don’t celebrate Friendship Day; I cherish friendship every day,," Arjun begins fondly. "My wife Neha is my forever best friend. She has been my biggest support system, my sounding board, and the person who understands me the most. No matter what, I can always count on her, and celebrating this day with her and my close friends makes it extra special."
When asked about friendships in the entertainment industry, Arjun reflects on how rare yet meaningful they can be. "It is often said that it’s tough to make friendships in the industry because everyone is busy with their own lives and schedules. I feel I have been really lucky. I think I am still friends with all the friends with whom I did my first show, and those bonds are very close to my heart. We grew together, faced struggles together, and cheered for each other’s successes.
These are friendships built on trust and shared experiences, and that makes them last."
Talking about his idea of a perfect time with friends, Arjun emphasizes that simplicity matters the most. “For me, perfect moments with friends aren’t about lavish parties or exotic trips. It’s about genuine connection. Sometimes, it’s sitting together over a cup of coffee, sharing stories, reliving old memories, or just having long conversations on the phone when we can’t meet. Even the simplest moments become special when you’re with the right people.”
The actor also holds his childhood friendships close to his heart. "Yes, I am still in touch with my childhood friends. Those friendships are unique because they are effortless and pure. They were formed before fame or success came into my life, and that makes them unshakable. Friendships today are equally special, but with busy schedules, they need a little more effort to nurture."
As he reflects on the occasion, Arjun leaves everyone with a heartfelt message about the importance of friends. "Friendship is one of the most beautiful relationships in life. Whether it’s an old friend, a new one, or that one person who feels like family, these bonds are what keep us grounded and happy. Never take them for granted," he concludes.
