Exclusive: Dill Mill Gayye fame Pankit Thakker and Prachi are now divorced

Television actor Pankit Thakker, best known for his role in Dill Mill Gayye, and his wife Prachi have officially ended their 20-year-long marriage. The couple, who had been living separately since 2015, announced their separation in 2016. Now, Times of India TV has learnt that their divorce was finalized in early December.
A close source confirmed the development, though both Pankit and Prachi remained unavailable for comment. When approached by Times of India TV, Prachi simply stated, “I wouldn’t like to comment on my personal life.”

Pankit and Prachi tied the knot on September 11, 2000, when Pankit was just 21. Their marriage faced several challenges over the years, including disapproval from Pankit’s family and a considerable age gap. Despite these issues, the couple attempted to salvage their relationship through counseling.
In a candid interview in 2021, Pankit shared insights into their struggles: “We went to notable counselors, but it couldn’t help us. We tried almost every possible way to save our marriage but found peace and happiness after living separately.”

By 2016, Pankit publicly acknowledged their separation. In the same 2021 interview, he reflected on their improved relationship post-separation: “We have been living separately since 2015, and now both of us find ourselves in a better place and a happy state in life. We still respect each other, and things are very clear between us.”
The former couple has mutually agreed to co-parent their son, with Pankit fully supporting their child staying with Prachi.

While the news of their divorce may not come as a surprise given their prolonged separation, it marks the official closure of a long chapter in their lives. Despite personal differences, their mutual respect and commitment to co-parenting remain commendable.
