Tulsi Dham Ke Laddu Gopal actor Monika Singh revealed that she was always camera shy, and it was only after her brother-in-law’s encouragement that she thought of pursuing a career in this field.
“I never intended to pursue acting as a career, as I was initially camera shy. However, my jiju and his friends were from this industry, so they encouraged me to start with print shoots, and I gradually became comfortable in front of the camera. While I've had some nice projects, I haven't yet found a role that has fully satisfied my creative aspirations,” she said.
She also shared that every actor develops their own unique style and approach to portraying characters. She added, “I've taken acting courses and will continue to attend workshops (2–3 days) to refine my craft. Despite the struggles inherent in this industry, I believe that hard work and dedication are essential to success.”
But Monika feels that many people underestimate the amount of hard work required in acting. She added, “It's a challenging profession that demands immersing oneself in emotions, memorizing lines, and bringing characters to life. It's a craft that requires dedication and passion.”
If she could go back in time, she would advise her younger self to start early and ignore others' opinions. “I was initially very shy, so I would encourage myself to be confident, positive, and never lose hope,” she said.
And how do you stay creatively inspired when work is less? “During periods of less frequent work, I stay creatively inspired by utilising my free time to explore new creative outlets. I stay open-minded, take up new hobbies, and surround myself with positive people who encourage me to pursue my creative interests,” Monika ended.
