Exclusive - Tumm Se Tumm Tak's Niharika Chouksey: I really love Anu's soft colour choices, and I enjoy playing her because she is so easy to relate to
Niharika Chouksey, who plays the role of Anu in Tumm Se Tumm Tak, is not only winning hearts for her simple and relatable performances but is also turning heads for her taste in fashion. The actress opens up about her love for fashion, the trends she likes to follow, and how there is a contrast between her on-screen simplicity and her off-screen fashion persona.
Talking about her character, Niharika says, “My character Anu is very simple and deeply rooted in culture. She keeps it very simple when it comes to her outfits, and I really love her soft colour choices in clothes, and I enjoy playing her because she is so easy to relate to. However, offscreen I love experimenting with my looks and following fashion trends, as dressing up allows me to express different sides of myself, and I have a lot of fun wearing different outfits.
However, off camera, Niharika is someone who likes to be versatile. She adds, “I like experimenting with different styles and colours and not restricting myself. Some days I enjoy wearing traditional clothes, and on other days I love wearing western clothes and experimenting with bold looks. For me fashion begins with confidence and comfort because if you are comfortable and confident in what you wear and how you carry yourself, it reflects in your mood.”
In terms of fashion inspirations, Niharika admires the fashion choices of Bollywood divas Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt. She says, “I just love the way Deepika carries herself, especially since I am quite fond of her airport looks. Whether it’s any kind of outfit, she pairs it so well with accessories. I have grown up watching her movies and have always admired her dressing style. Even with a simple and sleek bun or bold clothes, the confidence with which she carries those outfits is just amazing.”
Talking about Alia Bhatt, she said, "I have loved her evolving taste in fashion. The way she has evolved as a person, as an actor and has now become a global star is a journey to look at and feel inspired by. And recently her fashion choices have been making a lot of noise and for all the right reasons. Be it her ajrakh saree look or her Christmas outfit, I feel her taste has become very mature, and trend-worthy.
