Not many people know that actress Rachana Mistry, who plays the lead in Na Umra Ki Seema Ho, did a few shows before this. She played supporting and negative roles. The actress says she is happy to land a lead role even after doing supporting roles. She is glad that people no longer typecast an actor in the TV industry.
Rachana says, "I belong to Mumbai but have completely no background in acting.
I always wanted to be an actor and so I did a couple of Marathi shows and then moved to Hindi television. My first TV show was Salim Anarkali and then I did Barrister Babu. After I played a strong, negative role in Thapki Pyaar Ki 2, I never thought that people would cast me in a lead role. At that time, I used to always feel that why can't this stereotype be broken because I always wanted to play the lead. And finally I got lucky and was selected for Na Umra Ki Seema Ho. I was surprised and happy that I had managed to break the myth that once you play a negative role, you will not bag a lead role.'"
The actress, who plays a younger woman in love with an older man in the show, shares how she is quite close to her character Vidhi. She shares, "Iqbal (Khan) sir is a thorough gentleman and he made me very comfortable on the first day of shoot. So, enacting romantic scenes with him was not awkward or difficult. I do believe that in real life, too, it is possible to fall inl love with an individual irrespective of his age or profession."
