Shagun Sharma, who is currently seen playing the role of
Sonali in Ishq Par Zor Nahi, spoke about the future of content and longevity of TV.
Talking about her take on the importance of content in a project, Shagun says, “I believe content has always been the king but now people have started focusing more on it now then the star value. The future of content is very subjective as we need to see what is working right now and what will work in the future I have no idea about it as the world is changing at a very fast pace now.
Some content that was working yesterday, has somewhat become outdated now. So the future of content is really something that no one can tell but yes, we are moving towards a more realistic zone now."
On being asked if television will die someday, she says, "It is actually a vague thought that some people have that TV might die someday but it's untrue. We have to see the demographic and the research - most of the people (especially in the rural regions) in India are still not open to the idea of OTT or still don't have access to it. So one can say that there may be a shift in the type of content in future but TV will never die."
Lastly, on being asked what type of shows she likes, she says, “I like sci-fi and comedy genres more. Some of my favorite shows are like Friends, Salvation. Some hindi films like Phir Hera Pheri, Golmaal and All the best.”
