Actor
Karan Mehra, best known for his iconic portrayal of Naitik Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is looking at 2026 as a phase of renewal, growth and meaningful choices. The actor, who has also been part of TV shows like Khatmal E Ishq and Shubharambh says television will always feel like home.
Sharing his thoughts on a possible return to TV, Karan says, “I genuinely see 2026 as a year of fresh beginnings. Television has given me so much and it will always be close to my heart. I’m very open to coming back, but the content has to excite me. At this stage, I’m drawn towards meaningful roles, strong storytelling and characters that truly challenge me as an actor.”
Talking about how the industry has evolved since his debut, the actor reflects, “The industry has changed tremendously. Earlier, television followed a fixed format with long-running shows and limited platforms. Today, content is king. With OTT platforms, shorter formats and bold narratives, actors have far more freedom to experiment. Audiences are also more aware and selective, which is a very healthy change. It pushes everyone to raise their game.”
On the personal front, Karan says balance has become his priority. “Peace of mind, good health and surrounding myself with positivity are extremely important to me now. I want to keep growing not just as an actor, but as a human being. I’m open to new opportunities and experiences, but the focus is on building a life that feels stable, joyful and meaningful.”
Summing it up, the actor adds, “For me, the future is about happiness, growth and gratitude — everything else will follow.”
