The tiny tots have been a major inspiration in
Tanya Abrol's career. The TV and film actor says that kids' innocent thought-process and honest opinions have given her a lot of clarity in terms of taking a step further. "They are one of the upfront, honest and most amazing audiences. They will never give a wrong review or have a politically correct answer. They talk straight.
And to convince them, you need to actually give the best content," she says. Tanya, who played bold and spirited Balbir Kaur in SRK-starrer film Chak De! India more than a decade ago, reveals that her fondness for children, their inquisitive mind in particular, made her do Best of Luck Nikki sitcom where she played Pam's character. "The adaptation of American series made me learn so much." Tanya says children are always at the back of her mind. And whatever role she's doing, she tries to be kiddish to reach out to her favourite audience. "When I was doing CID also I wanted to make things engaging. My character of Insp Jaywanti Shinde. was loved by kids," she says.
Tanya has done many shows on TV including Kuch To Log Kahenge, Best Of Luck Nikki, and Yeh Hai Aashiqui. The Abohar girl who moved to tinsel town with dreams talks about how she loves doing films. "No doubts, I got recognised from my TV stint, but Bollywood is my favourite. "
TV IS A VERY BIG MEDIUM"The fayda of TV is that the kahaani or script can be stretched or added to. I still have young fans who call me Lady Daya. People still connect me with that character. Memes are made and they keep tagging me."
I AM A KID AT HEARTTanya has a soft corner for kids. "Even if I have done strong characters, I am still a kid at heart," she says.
