Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Akashdeep Saigal returns as Ansh’s son, surprising fans; Smriti Irani earns praise from netizens
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2 has been ruling the roost and the show has been dominating the TRP charts for several weeks now. The latest storyline, featuring Ansh Gujral's son aka Akashdeep Saigal’s return, is being widely appreciated by the audience.
In Sunday's episode, producer Ekta Kapoor introduced a major twist. Akashdeep Saigal, who earlier played Ansh in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 1, has returned to the show and will now be seen as Ansh’s son, Riyo.
During the episode, Smriti Irani's character Tulsi comes face-to-face with Riyo for the first time. Ever since, the sequence went on-air, the episode has sparked buzz on social media. Viewers have been praising Smriti Irani’s performance in the scene.
A user wrote, "I’m still trying to process that how does Ekta manage to do it every freaking time? Yeh zyada hi KRAAAAZY nahi ho gaya (sic)." Another netizen commented, "How do you do it, @smritiirani? Once again, you proved you’re the OG ITV queen and always will be. You left us completely speechless (sic)."
A fan of the show wrote, "There’s a reason she’s the most iconic face on Indian television. Today was pure magic. ✨ Some actors play a character, but Smriti mam is Tulsi Virani. This episode belonged entirely to her (sic)."
The iconic TV show, returned with season 2 in July last year and marked the comeback of Smriti Irani to not only the show but acting also. While several reports earlier claimed that the show would run for only 150 episodes, it has already crossed 272 episodes so far.
That's not all, due to the success of Kyunki 2 and popularity of the new character, Ekta Kapoor launched a spin-off titled Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hain. It has been performing descent on the TRP charts.
