four years ago, turned down offers to perform at events in India a few days before the nationwide lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She says, “After marriage, I moved to Dubai because my husband runs a business there. I keep shutting between Dubai and Mumbai, to spend time with my family and work as well. I had offers for three events before the lockdown was announced in India. Back then, people weren’t taking this issue too seriously. However, I’m glad that I behaved like a responsible citizen. Of course, the money offered was huge, but staying safe and ensuring everyone’s safety was my priority then.”

’ and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, replies, “Everything barring grocery stores is shut in Dubai. It’s nice to see how everyone is taking social distancing seriously and rightly so. Most of us step out only to do grocery shopping. Fortunately, people are responsible here and there is no hoarding. Yes, they did panic during the first couple of days, but now, everyone is buying only what they need.”
