FIR and NC highlight music launch of Mumbai Can Dance Saalaa
The music of the film Mumbai Can Dance Saala had barely launched at a suburban five-star hotel on Thursday, when it hit a bad note. The team had got together on the stage when one Manisha Kumari, a friend of Rakhi Sawant -- who plays a role in the movie -- got on stage and not only made allegations against the director Sachindra Sharma, but charged at him.

It all ended with registration of an FIR and a Non-Cognizable complaint at Santacruz Police Station.
An eye-witness present at the venue tells us that Rakhi’s friend accused Sachindra of indulging in casting couch, cutting short Rakhi’s part in the movie and downsizing her photograph in the film’s poster.
“Rakhi’s friend also hit the director’s wife, besides abusing them and alleging that the director cast girls only if they were ready to compromise for the roles,” says our source.
On her part, Manisha maintains that Sachindra ‘first made the offer’. She explains, “Just before the event began, the director told me that if I had compromised with him, he would have cast me instead of Rakhi. I got angrier when I learnt that he had cut Rakhi’s part and not even got her to dub for the film. So I had to give it back to him.”Rakhi adds, “I’m proud of what Manisha did. If any girl I harassed, she should report to the police to ensure such people, who also hit women, are brought to book.”
While Sachindra’s mobile was switched off, producer Ranjeet Sharma blames Rakhi and Manisha for ruining his movie’s music launch with baseless allegations. He says, “Sachindra didn’t raise his hand on Rakhi’s friend, she hit him. She was drunk and behaving badly. When he stepped back and his wife Madhu tried defending him, Rakhi’s friend hit her too.”
He adds that after Rakhi’s friend registered the FIR against Sachindra, the cops didn’t register Madhu’s FIR. “The police only registered an NC for Madhu and Sachindra. Rakhi has done all this for publicity. I’m going to the producers’ and directors’ associations to ensure that Rakhi is banned,” he summed up.
