Reema Lagoo, who was last shooting for Naamakarann on TV, passed away on May 18 at a hospital here. She was 59. The actress died of a cardiac arrest in the early hours of the morning at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital late last night after she complained of chest pain. Besides a host of Bollywood actors, her colleagues from TV were also there to pay their lasty respects to the late actress.
Among them was Rakesh Bedi, who had played Dilruba on her hit show 'Shriman Shrimati' way back in the 90s.
Reema Lagoo's Naamkarann co-actor Gulfam Khan Hussain, who plays her samdhan on the show Naamkaran, was teary-eyed and inconsolable at the funeral.

Reema Lagoo's daughter Mrunmayee, who is also a theatre and film actress as well as theatre director, in the ambulance. Born in Mumbai, Reema Lagoo started her career with theatre, where she performed in several Marathi plays. She later took it as a full-time profession. The actress was working on Mahesh Bhatt produced TV show Naamkaran where she played the role of main antagonist Dayawanti Mehta.
