Saanand Verma: I find the colours and culture of rural Rajasthan fascinating
Saanand Verma, best known for his role in Bhabijii Ghar Par Hain!, was recently in Sawai Madhopur for a shoot. The actor is excited to have found an opportunity to visit the city. Saanand shares, “This is the first time that I got to visit Sawai Madhopur. I also got a chance to visit the famous Ranthambore National Park, which has just opened after almost six months.
I consider myself lucky to have enjoyed the jungle safari and spot tigers. What is even more fascinating to me is being able to witness the colours and culture of rural Rajasthan, which is full of life and energy. Camel carts and women in their colourful traditional attires give you a glimpse of the rang rangilo Rajasthan. The pagri that the men here wear fascinates me a lot, too.”

Saanand who has earlier shot for films like Chalo Dilli and Pataakha in Rajasthan loves coming back to the state again and again. He adds, “Asli Hindustan Rajasthan mein basta hai. I have travelled several times to Jaipur and Udaipur for destination weddings, too.” Talking about the experience of shooting post-pandemic, he shares, “A lot has changed since we resumed shooting amid the pandemic. Earlier we were only concerned about reaching the set on time with our makeup and costumes on. Now wearing masks, sanitisation, face-shields and social distancing have become the priority.”
Saanand who has worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in Chhichhore, recalls how fun working with the late actor was. “During the breaks, Sushant used to sing songs, learn his dialogues and rehearse his scenes. He was very hard-working. That is why he not only succeeded in TV and films, but also left his mark in whatever he did. We miss the lively person that he was,” shares Verma.
