Former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant and Haryanvi sensation Sapna Choudhary reacts to death hoax: 'It was very upsetting for my family'
Rumours are a part and parcel of showbiz and many actors have learnt to take things in their stride. But when the rumours get nasty, it can be really disturbing for anyone.
Recently there was a death hoax; some reports online said dancer and actress Sapna Choudhary had passed away.
Soon Sapna's family members started getting calls from all over. She says, "It was very upsetting for my family.
They didn't know how to deal with it. In this profession, one always encounters all kinds of rumours but something like this was bizarre. I wonder how anybody can spread something like this because you are not just affecting the person concerned, but also his/her family. Imagine what a parent would feel to get a call like that, where people are asking about their daughter passing away!"
Sapna also wonders if there was some misunderstanding in this case. She says, "A singer had passed away and maybe somebody confused that singer with me… I don't know. It's sad that an artist has passed away but I really wish this confusion hadn’t happened.”
On the work frontSapna wants to do a lot more in the Hindi entertainment industry. However she believes it’s tough. In an earlier interview with us she had said, “I will complete 15 years in showbiz this year. I want to act in a Hindi film or TV show, but I feel since I am from the regional entertainment industry (Haryana), I don’t get the opportunities to showcase my talent. I don’t want to wear revealing clothes and I cannot speak fluent English, which becomes a barrier at times. Also, I don’t have a godfather and that's another reason why I have been struggling to get a break in the Hindi industry."
