Shagufta Ali to play a brothel owner in ‘Barrister Babu’

A short while ago, we told you about Sayantani Ghosh joining the cast of Shashi and Sumeet Mittal’s ‘Barrister Babu’. Well, we are now back with another development on the cast of the show, which features Aurra Bhatnagar and Pravisht Mishra in lead roles.
We have it that seasoned actor Shagufta Ali, who was last seen in ‘Bepannah’, has been roped in to play an important cameo in its upcoming track.She will play the owner of a brothel, where Sayantani is a dancer.
Informs a source associated with the show, “The story will witness a twist with the entry of Sayantani and Shagufta. The latter will play a brothel owner, a shrewd woman. Shagufta has always taken up performance-oriented roles and this one is no different. With two talented actors joining the show, we are expecting an encouraging response from the audience.”
When contacted, Shagufta said, “I have been approached for the part, but the deal is yet to be finalised.”
Over the years, the actress has featured in several TV shows, including ‘Parampara’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Sanjivani: A Medical Boon’, 'Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki', 'Zaara', 'Punar Vivah', 'Madhubala — Ek Ishq Ek Junoon', 'Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera' and 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya'. She has also made her presence felt in various Bollywood films, including 'Kanoon Apna Apna', 'Sirf Tum', 'Mehndi', 'Hero No. 1' and 'Laila Majnu'.
