Baal Shiv actress Shrasti Maheshwari who was all set to tie the knot in April has postponed her wedding. The actress says, “When I met my fiancé Karan Vaidya a few months ago, we decided to get married in April. But now we have postponed the wedding, because there is so much to do. So many arrangements to make and bringing two families together is a task. I don’t want a rushed wedding which I cannot even enjoy, so I want to take my time.”
Shrashti and Karan had a roka ceremony on March 4, in Shrashti’s hometown Bareilly.
“It was a fun and intimate affair organised by my parents. Now an engagement will happen followed by the wedding,” she says.

The Pandya Store actress says that people still cannot believe that she found Karan through an arranged set-up. “My parents had asked me if I had someone in my life but I had no one. Then they made a profile for my sister and me on a matrimonial site and that is how I met Karan. The first time he met me was at the set and I also went to Bangalore to see his work. I could never imagine that I would meet the kind of guy I wanted in my life through my parents,” she adds.
The actress is head over heels in love with Karan and says that she couldn’t have asked for someone better than him. “We both come from two dynamic backgrounds. He is in tech and I am in the entertainment industry. But the way we manage things is magical. He knows that sometimes I hardly get time to sit while I am shooting, while sometimes he hardly gets time to sleep since his clients are USA based. My parents and I always wanted a person who would respect my job and he not only understands it but values it as well,” she concludes.
