Sonakshi Batra on working with veteran actor Suhita Thatte: “I learn something new in every scene”
Popular show, Jagadhatri is one of those shows that has won hearts due to its excellent storyline, mind-blowing twists, and well-crafted characters. The uniqueness of this show lies in the way it flawlessly blends emotions, family matters, and thrills in one package. One side, Jagadhatri (Sonakshi Batra) appears to be an innocent lady but she is someone who is an undercover officer known as Agent JD who battles crime with great courage and determination. At home, she suffers due to her stepmother and aunt who constantly torment her.
However, throughout the hard times, her Aaji (grandmother) has always been there for Jagadhatri in every situation.
Ever since Jagadhatri lost her mother, Aaji played by Suhita Thatte has protected and encouraged her through every challenge. Aaji is the only person in Jagadhatri’s family, apart from Shivaay, who knows that she is actually undercover officer Agent JD. Contrary to the shock that most would have experienced once they learned the truth, Aaji opted to take sides with Jagadhatri, ensuring she was safe and protected from everyone else in the household.
The audience was impressed with an episode where Aaji acted disappointed with Jagadhatri following her wedding to Shivaay (Farman Haider), but deep down, she was still supporting her throughout. Fans of the show are also enjoying the wonderful chemistry between the two onscreen, as they portray a perfect picture of love and connection between a grandmother and granddaughter.
Talking about these emotional scenes and her experience of working with veteran actress Suhita Thatte, actress Sonakshi Batra shared, “Jagadhatri and Aaji’s bond is one of the most beautiful relationships in the show for me. Ever since Jagadhatri lost her mother, Aaji has been her emotional strength and biggest support system. Even when the entire family misunderstands her or treats her unfairly, Aaji quietly stands beside her like a shield. I believe that unconditional love is the reason behind their emotional and unique relationship. In one of the episodes where Aaji realizes that Jagadhatri is a spy for the police but continues to protect her identity, moved me a lot. Even though Aaji is pretending to be angry in front of the family, her love and pride for Jagadhatri can still be felt in every scene. It reminds me a lot of my own grandmother and the comfort, warmth and support that grandparents bring into our lives. Working with Suhita Thatte ma’am makes these scenes even more memorable for me. She is such a brilliant and experienced actor, and every time I perform with her, I genuinely learn something new about acting, emotions and scene dynamics. There is so much grace and honesty in her performance that it automatically pushes me to do better. Sharing screen space with senior artists like her is truly a blessing for any actor.”
Meanwhile, Jagadhatri is now trying to find out the truth about Moosa and his connection with Rudra. At the same time, Maya, who has always loved Jagadhatri and Shivaay, has started feeling that they may not be right for the family anymore. Because of this, Maya has started keeping a close eye on Jagadhatri and Shivaay, creating more tension and drama in the house. How will Jagadhatri solve everything at home and work now?
