How Kishore Kumar welcomed audience during Live shows

Amit Kumar showed the audiences, how his late father used to welcome his audience during live shows. He revealed that the introduction was written by Kishore Kumar himself and he began doing this in 1972 at a show in New York. He then went on to talk about his debut performance which happened in Kolkata. Post this he started getting singing offers and he began doing live shows which made his mother complain about him to Kishore Kumar. When Kishore ji heard about it, he praised him.

How Amit Kumar bagged his first song

Amit Kumar went on to narrate about his first few shows which were attended by his father. When Amit Kumar informed his father that he had kept a front row seat for him, Kishore Kumar refused to sit saying that nobody would watch his show seeing him there. He was then made to sit in a corner where nobody could see him. After watching Amit's performance, Kishore Kumar told his wife to send their son to Mumbai. He was then noticed by S.D Burman in 1973 and later bagged his first song.

​On comparisons with father

When Kapil quizzed Amit Kumar about being compared with Kishore Kumar, the latter said he never had any complex. He said I learnt everything from my father. He also added that he was happy that few music composers like Laxmikant Pyarelal, R D Burman, stood by him. He shared that RD Burman had told him that nobody can be like Kishore Kumar and advised him not to copy his late father. Amit Kumar mesmerized audience with his debut song 'Bade Acche Lagte Hain'.

Amit Kumar was trolled on social media: He shared that one of Kishore Kumar's fan called him a fluke on social media. He laughed about it and said he will come up with an album, 'Amit Kumar is a fluke'.

Kishore Kumar was not a trained singer

Amit revealed that his father's guru was the famous singer Kundan Lal Saigal and he never learnt classical singing. He was a naturally gifted singer. He also revealed that Kishore Kumar met K.L Saigal when he was just 9 years old.

Kishore Kumar inquired about other singers renumeration

Amit Kumar shared with Kapil that Kishore Kumar always asked producers how much other singers like Lata Mangeshkar charged and accordingly he decided his price. The producers actually paid more amount to Kishore ji. He also said that there were times when filmmakers hired him to sing a song as his father Kishore Kumar was busy. He narrated an interesting incident about a song Roz Roz Aankhon Tale sung by Lata Mangeshkar and shared how he bagged that song.

Kapil Sharma's confession

Host Kapil confessed on camera that he did not know that songs like Bade achhe and Kehdo Ke Tum Ho Meri Warna were sung by Amit Kumar. The singer revealed that music composer Laxmikant had predicted that Kehdo Ke Tum would be a big hit. He also said that he always wished to sing for SD Burman but unfortunately his dream could not come true. His biggest award was when SD Burman came to watch his show in Calcutta and threw garland at him from the crowd.

When Amit Kumar got scolded for arriving 10 mins late

Amit Kumar told fans that veteran music director O. P. Nayyar had called him to playback for Salman Khan in Nischay. He got scolded by the music composer for reaching 10 minutes late for the meet. He even made Kavita Krishnamurthy and Amit rehearse for next six days.

Krushna takes a dig at Archana Puran Singh

Krushna entered the stage by dancing on Kishore Kumar's hot song from Half Ticket. He then interacted with Amit Kumar and his family. During his conversation, Krushna as Sapna revealed that he wants his son to particpate in a singing competion. He mocks reality shows and says he wants his son to earn huge votes so that one day he becomes a minister and join a comedy show, hinting towards Navjot Singh Sidhu. He then took a dig at Archana Puran Singh and said how she had snatched Sidhu's chair.

Krushna and Chandan's banter

When Chandan says to be succesful on a reality show one needs to have talent, Kapil adds by saying to be successful on any show you need talent. Krushna asks Kapil why is he saying this to Chandan as he is anyways his friend. Chandan mocks him and tells the latter could become successful only because he is Govinda's nephew. Their banter makes audiences and the guests laugh out loud. Krushna goes on to crack many funny jokes.

When Kishore was called dark skinned by a filmmaker

Amit Kumar shared that during one of Ashok Kumar's film screening a filmmaker had called his father dark skinned. Kishore Kumar remembered the producer and years later when he signed him for his film, Kishore ji made sure to teach him a lesson. The incident left audiences in splits of laughter.

Story behind the making of Roop Tera Mastana

Not many are aware that Roop Tera Mastana originally had a different composition. He narrated the entire incident how SD Burman, RD Burman, Shakti Samanta and Rajesh Khanna were very tensed about the song as it had a very different composition and they were not happy about it as they wanted a western feel. Kishore Kumar then reminded SD Burman about his own composition that he made a few years ago and this is how Roop Tera Mastana was made.

Tribute to Kishore Kumar

The team of The Kapil Sharma Show paid an amazing tribute to Kishore Kumar and Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rochelle Rao and Chandan played characters from superhit film Padosan. Amit Kumar got emotional seeing the whole act and praised the team for bringing back all the memories.
