Toral Rasputra: I come to Delhi for work but I would love to explore the city

She mostly comes to Delhi for work and between her hectic schedule of promotions and interviews, TV actress Toral Rasputra tries to take out time for some Dilli-darshan. The actress says that while she has had a taste of Dilli ki chaat and shopped in Janpath, it was mostly as a part of promotions for her different shows. She adds that even though she has seen a fair bit of the capital, she would “definitely like to explore the city one day” on her own.

She mostly comes to Delhi for work and between her hectic schedule of promotions and interviews, TV actress Toral Rasputra tries to take out time for some Dilli-darshan. ‘Delhi is one of my favourite cities’
Toral, who will now be seen in the mythological show Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi – Kahani Mata Rani Ki, says that she comes to the city only for promoting her shows. Since she is always on a tight schedule, she has never gotten the chance to explore the city. “I love coming to Delhi, it is one of my favourite cities. I mostly come here for work, and we don’t get much time. Par aise mauke bahut baar mile hain.

Even though it was for various shoots, I have often had the chance to explore some popular spots in Delhi. The chaat here is so popular, so when I do come here for work, Dilli ki chaat is a must have, and if lucky, I get to enjoy Delhi’s weather, too,” the actress says.
‘Mythological shows educate people’
Toral, who has done shows like 'Balika Vadhu', 'Mere Sai' and more says that mythological shows in a way can also educate the audience and that is what she tries to do while she also goes for different genres of TV shows. “In this show, I am playing Vaishno Devi’s mother and I feel lucky to play such a character. I think
har role aapko chunta hai. I believe in destiny and it is such a positive role that will also present a beautiful bond between a mother and a daughter. Since I have not done any mythological show earlier, I decided to go for this one. Aise shows entertainment ke saath-saath educate bhi karte hain. When we recreate episodes from mythology on TV, then even kids can visualise it and imagine how things would have taken place in that era. That is also one of the main reasons that these shows work,” she adds.

‘I was shocked to see my fan base in places like Indonesia and Vietnam’
TV actors enjoy a huge fan following abroad but there are various countries where Hindi shows are dubbed so that the local audience can enjoy such shows as well. Toral, who has fans from Turkey, Indonesia and Vietnam, shares, “I have been to Vietnam and Indonesia and I was surprised to see the kind of fan following I have there. The moment I landed, I was shocked and did not know how to react. In Mumbai, it becomes normal for people to see actors but for them, it was such a big deal for them to see us. Mujhe log aaj bhi Anandi (from 'Balika Vadhu') ke naam se hi jaante hain so I am lucky that I got the opportunity to play a role like that.”
