Actress Amrapali Gupta is known for playing negative roles in shows like Qubool Hai and Bahu Begum. On asked if she feels that she has been typecast, the actress shares, “There have been times when I have tried playing something different, but everyone wants me to play negative roles. I have been typecaste and that’s not going to change, so I have accepted that.”
After playing a cameo on Naagin 6 now the actress has bagged a new show Gud Se Meetha Ishq, talking about her role, Amrapali says, "My role of Chavi is of a negative one.
I am playing a role of a mother who is also a classical dancer. There are parts where I will be playing a younger version of myself and then the older one, so I thought it's interesting where I can play two different age. It's a good role and I love dancing because I am a trained dancer, it is an interesting opportunity, so I took it up."
On the personal front, managing motherhood and her career is not easy but Amrapali says she has managed to balance the two well with support from her actor-husband Yash Sinha. “After Kabir was born, either I would work or he would take up a project. One of us used to be with our son to take care of him. After he grew up a little, I took him along with me on the sets and now that he’s five-years-old, he understands that his parents are actors. I plan his day’s schedule for him at home, so he follows that. He’s a very understanding child. Whenever he misses us, he calls us.”
Amrapali also talks about how she gets to spend less time with her husband these days. “When we were dating in 2008, we spent a lot of time together. We used to go for short trips to Lonavala or some other place. Now we don’t get that kind of time, but we know how to keep the spark alive in our relationship. Even today, after being married for 10 years , we enjoy each other’s company. We love each other just the same even today, she shares.
