‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ January 20 written update: Abhira leaves Maira’s school competition as Vani runs away

The latest episode of the show picks up with Abhira and Armaan in turmoil over Meher’s case. Maira tells her parents that she has a school event to attend and that she has to go there with at least one parent. Armaan tries to postpone his meeting to be with Maira; however, Abhira assures him that she will leave Vani in Mahinsha’s care, and she will go to the school instead.Meanwhile, Sanjay and Kajal talk about their son Krish. They share that their son has still not found a job. While Kajal tells her husband to help Krish out a little, Sanjay outright refuses. Armaan and Abhira prep for Maira’s big presentation at school. In the middle of everything, Vani starts coughing all of a sudden. Abhira leaves to tend to her. Seeing all of this, Vidya starts worrying that Vani’s arrival in the house may ruin things for Armaan, Abhira, and Maira. The scene shifts to Meher talking about the case’s reopening and how Vani and Abhira are a threat to her lie. Mittal tries to calm his daughter down, but she insists that something needs to be done about the two. She says that someone needs to keep her updated about Abhira and Vani’s whereabouts regularly. The scene later goes back to the Poddar house. Abhira finds out that Vani and Maira have both qualified to compete in a dance competition at their school. This leaves her overjoyed. Maira requests that Abhira dance with her in the competition, which she happily says yes to. At the Poddar family home, when everyone has left, Vidya talks to Vani about the recent matters. She makes her believe that all of the mishaps have happened because of her. Vani starts to feel guilty about everything and runs away from the house, leaving Vidya satisfied. Later, at the school, when Maira and Abhira are prepping, Manisha calls her to inform her that Vani has run away. Abhira leaves her daughter at the school, asking her to wait till Armaan comes to her. The promo for the next episode shows Vani rushing onto the road. Abhira runs behind her in order to save her from the passing cars. Meher is in her car when she sees the two of them together. She decides to kill them and rushes her car towards them.
