Juhi Parmar: I am like an elder brother to my sister

Television actress Juhi Parmar happens to be the eldest child in her family and though she may not have a brother, Juhi and her younger sibling Hina, have their own style of celebrating Raksha Bandhan. Hina has been tying a rakhi on Juhi’s wrist for many years now.
Talking about their yearly ritual, Juhi shares, “My sister Hina ties a rakhi on my wrist because I am like an elder brother to her, protecting her and taking care of her like a brother would do. I have been this over-pampering sister, but I’ve been quite strict too and she is actually scared of me even more than our parents.”
Hina, now married, has been a constant source of support in Juhi’s life. Juhi says, “Before she got married, she was staying with me. For the longest time, her name on my phone was saved as ‘housewife’ because she used to take care of me and my house, just as a housewife would! Every evening, she would call me while I was shooting to ask what I would like to eat for dinner. She was literally running my house and I had no idea what was happening at my place or what was needed there. I named her ‘housewife’ and she had named me ‘Saasu Maa’ on her phone and so whenever I called, ‘Saasu Maa’ would flash. She says, ‘You were really like a mother-in-law because if anything would go wrong, you would really take my case’. It’s a beautiful bond that we share. We are very attached to each and will always be there for each other, no matter what.”
