Exclusive; Shwetha R Prasad says she was never inclined towards acting
Shwetha R Prasad is currently on a roll. The actress, who was voted as the Most Desirable woman of Kannada TV by Bangalore Times, has her hands full.
The actress has been in the limelight ever since her show ‘Radha Ramana’ managed to impress the audiences on Kannada TV.
Interestingly, Shwetha was never inclined towards acting. In fact, she landed her first role due to a producer's call after seeing a photo of the actress.
In an exclusive conversation with TimesofIndia.com, Shwetha talks about her journey so far, her connect with co-star Skanada and the challenge of being associated with prime-time televison.

Ques: You are a prime time face who is currently one of the leading and popular names of Kannada Television.
But tell us how your journey with TV began...
Shwetha : My journey started with Shrirastu Shubhamastu, a hit serial on a popular Kannada channel.
It was produced by Shruti Naidu. She saw my picture. In fact it was just a regular picture and not one from any photo shoot. She was convinced that I was perfect for that role.

Although they made hundreds of girls to audition, I wonder what made her think that I could pull it off with absolutely no training in acting or any skills as an actor.
Ques: You were voted as the most desirable women of Kannada Television by Bangalore Times. How did that feel?
Shwetha : On winning the most desirable on TV I am still on cloud nine.
I being the only lead actor on TV who is married, I didn’t expect this at all.
Age or marital status is just a tag. If u do justice to what you are doing, without even expecting you get surprising rewards like the one I just got.
It has now motivated me to be better and more ambitious.
Karmanye vaadikaraste maaphaleshu kadachana, I strongly believe in this.

Ques: Your character in Radha Ramana is loved by fans for the nature she upholds. Any instance in particular when you felt that she reminds you of yourself?
Shwetha : I have done two projects with similar roles. First Jaanu and now Radha which is so much like Shwetha. Yes, I'm very patient and soft spoken, but also fun to be with and full of life.
I am also very naughty but on the other hand, I don’t cry at all, so unlike Radha I don’t lose my temper.
I believe I am very mature in real life. I think I can really connect to Radha and that’s the reason I am able to do justice to the role
Ques: What is the challenge in being a part of a prime-time show?
Shwetha : The challenge in being prime time show is that there is so much competition within the channel, so many comparisons. To take all this is quite challenging. But I don’t compare myself with anyone and that’s why I don’t take any stress. I try to improve and these days one can see the comments on social media to know what one lacks and how one can improve.
Ques: You share brilliant chemistry with your co-star Skanda even off-screen. Tell us the bond between all of you on sets. What is a typical day like?

Shwetha : Skanda and I share a very sweet bond onscreen and off-screen. He is caring, sweet and understanding which makes life so simple on screen. He understands that I am married and respects me for who I am. He also understands my limitations when it comes to acting since I am married, which is extremely important.
His nature has made our bond even more special. Skanda is a very friendly guy, not just to me but to everyone on the set. We play a lot of pranks on him but he is a great sport. I am very lucky to get an understanding co-actor like him.
I am extremely happy that he got married. The fact that he has found a life partner like the way he had imagined makes it all the more special.
