It’s raining Kannada stars on TV this festive season

Festive seasons are when film stars usually make a beeline for the small screen, irrespective of whether they have a movie to promote or not. It’s no different this Dasara with your favourite stars either making cameos on popular daily soaps, or coming in as celebrity guests on talk shows, cookery specials, etc.
New shows kick off with star presence
Two new shows — Bombat Bhojana and Chandanavanada Gombe — are set to premiere this festive season. Bombat Bhojana is a cookery show hosted by Sihi Kahi Chandru that will have a celebrity guest on each episode, while he prepares signature dishes. Set to go on air on October 19, the show has already shot episodes featuring Krishi Thapanda, Karunya Ram and Vanitha Vasu, among others.
TV host and actress Chaitra Vasudevan’s talk show Chandanavanada Gombe also starts soon. Chaitra says, “This is a fun chat show that will only feature the ladies of Kannada cinema. Dressed in the finest ethnic wear, they will talk about their careers, beauty hacks and lifestyle. We have already shot episodes with Priya Mani, Pranitha Subhash, Aditi Prabhudeva, Sreeleela, Harshika Poonacha and Sonu Gowda.”
Actors bring twists in the tales
Actress Hariprriya’s first-ever television cameo has her in the role of a goddess in the serial Sangarsha. Director and producer Shruti Naidu says, “As Devi, Hariprriya will appear in four different avatars, each of which brings in a twist in the tale.”
The Kannada serial Kannadathi, meanwhile, will have playback singer Ananya Bhat and actress Manvita Kamath attending a birthday party hosted by the character Varudhini, played by Sarah Annaiah. While Ananya will sing Mental Ho Jawa song from Tagaru, Manvitha, who featured in it, will perform it at the party.
Cast of Agnisakshi reunites
The actors of Agnisakshi — Vijay Suriya, Vaishnavi Gowda, Mukyamantri Chandru and Rajesh Dhruva — will come together as a special collaboration in Nannarasi Radhe. Vaishnavi says, “In the serial, the protagonists Agastya and Inchara will be facing relationship problems that are pretty much like that what Siddharth and Sannidhi faced in Agnisakshi. In the special episode, we will appear in character to help solve their problems.”
