Kannada actress
Shaambhawi Venkatesh, recently recognized for her role as Manya in the popular daily soap
Amruthadhaare, has revealed a heartbreaking update from her personal life. The actress revealed that her three-year-old son, Dushyant, has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, a rare form of third-stage blood cancer. Shaambhawi, a mother to twins, made this emotional announcement on her Instagram, updating followers on her son’s condition and treatment journey.
In her post, Shaambhawi expressed the disbelief and sorrow she felt upon receiving the diagnosis on September 23.
"It is with a heavy heart that we share this news about our three-year-old Dushyant," she wrote. "We were hoping that the final test results wouldn’t confirm cancer. But fate has its way, and no prayers or rituals could rewrite what was written for us.”
Alongside her husband Mrityunjay Kumar, the actress has come to terms with this reality and is determined to face it together with her son. The couple finds solace in doctors’ assurances that Dushyant’s condition is 95% curable, giving them hope in this difficult time. However, Shaambhawi is heartbroken by the toll it’s taking on her young son. “It’s hard to see a three-year-old going through so much pain, especially when he doesn’t understand why this is happening to him. I keep trying to explain that he has a health issue and needs a lengthy treatment," she shared.
The chemotherapy has already begun, with the first cycle completed and the second one underway. Shaambhawi shared photos taken 40 days ago, showing her son on the first day of his therapy, describing it as both a devastating and hopeful day.
Shaambhawi and Mrityunjay, who welcomed their twins—a boy and a girl—on June 4, 2021, named their son Dushyant and their daughter Durga. Known for her versatility and impactful performances on television, Shaambhawi has established herself as a prominent actress in Kannada television, with roles in series such as
Nigooda Ratri as Mandakini,
Paaru as Disha, and
Lakshmi Stores as Teja. She is currently captivating audiences in her role as Manya on Zee Kannada’s
Amruthadhare.
Shaambhawi’s fans and the Kannada entertainment industry have extended their heartfelt support to the actress and her family, hoping for Dushyant’s swift recovery and keeping the family in their thoughts during this challenging time.
