However, Meera in real life is entirely different from what you see in the show. The writer-actress Meera Nair accepts that she is just the opposite of her on-screen character. In a candid chat with ETimes-TV, the actress spoke about her TV serial debut, her character in the show and that phone call she received from her school friend after ages.

Meera Nair was a known face to Malayalam TV as she was seen hosting shows like 'Better Half' and other celebrity interviews. However, she made her acting debut with a music album and it was indeed a turning point in her life. Later, she was seen playing supporting roles in movies like '

Njan Prakashan

', 'Run Kalyani', 'The Priest' and more. The award-winning writer, who has three published works to her credit, said that her entry into Malayalam TV was truly unplanned.

"Frankly, I was not so keen on acting. But, when the team approached me with the character, I was impressed with the progressive storyline and the way the serial stands out from the cliched family drama we get to see often on TV. So, I decided to give it a try," Meera said.

Meera also shared that the interesting portrayal of the bond between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is one thing she enjoys the most in the serial. In the show, Swasika Vijay plays the supportive daughter-in-law of Meera, who tries to get the latter married.

Meera shared that initially, she had some concerns over the characterisation of her role, but now she claims to be enjoying how on-screen Meera is evolving. On the other hand, the actress shared that she is entirely different in real-life.

"Lately, I got a call from one of my school friends after ages. She happened to watch the show and told me that the character is entirely different from my off-screen persona, which is true. I am not a soft-spoken and pleasing person like my character 'Meera', I always speak my mind. While she (Meera in the show) enjoys cooking and spending more time in the kitchen, I am not fond of the same in real-life," she said.
