Veteran actor GK Pillai passed away on Friday morning, due to age-related ailments. The actor, who was 97-year-old, was known for his characters in movies as well as TV shows.
The actor made his TV debut with the biopic 'Kadamattathu Kathanar'. However, he became a household name with his character Colonel Jagannatha Varma, in the 2011 soap ‘Kumkumapoovu’.
Soon after his demise, Malayalam TV celebs are seen paying tribute to the veteran actor through social media.
Actress Aswathy, who played the actor's granddaughter in 'Kumkumapoovu', has shared heartfelt condolences to the actor. The actress remembers how GK Pillai would sing along with her during the shoots.
